Our History
Built through service, partnership and purpose.
Established on March 24, 2024, in Camden, South Carolina, Omegas of Kershaw County Foundation, Inc. began with a clear mission: to advance service, scholarships and community engagement throughout Kershaw County.
March 2024
Founding and Leadership
The Foundation’s first officers were Thomas Perry, President; Brian L. Jeter, Vice President; Jamie Mack, Treasurer; and Anwar Jones, Historian. Their early leadership established a structure grounded in accountability, volunteerism and the service tradition of Chi Chi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
August 2024
Early Fundraising Efforts
The Foundation began its first fundraising activity by operating concession stands during the inaugural Major Premier League Soccer match at Williams-Brice Stadium, attended by more than 77,000 fans. That work expanded to University of South Carolina football and basketball games and concerts at Colonial Life Arena.
Early volunteers included James Arthur, Theonis Brown, Anthony McNair, Bruce Little, Jarius Mack, Jamie Mack, Deforrest Taylor, Anwar Jones, Brian Jeter, Keith Salters, Christopher Dove and Cortez Dickey.
Community Partnership
Scholarship Support
In partnership with Silver Leaf Cigar Lounge in Camden, the Foundation hosted a Scholarship Cigar Social that generated donor support for its scholarship fund and strengthened local business participation in educational opportunities for Kershaw County students.

Boots and Brims
The Foundation held its signature “Boots and Brims” fundraiser at the Camden City Arena. More than 270 patrons attended, along with a variety of vendors. Sponsors included Silver Leaf Cigar Lounge of Camden, Wateree Tobacco Company of Lugoff and Lugoff Ford Dealership.
November 2025
Service and Outreach
The Foundation conducted its first Veterans Day Breakfast at the Revolutionary War Park Visitors Center to honor Kershaw County veterans and service members.
During the same month, the Foundation presented 81 Elenco circuit-board kits to the third-grade class at Pine Tree Elementary and sponsored the Chi Chi Chapter Achievement Week Banquet in Camden.

Creating Community Impact
In less than two years, the Foundation moved from incorporation to active service through volunteer commitment, local sponsorships, scholarship fundraising, educational support and civic outreach. That record continues to shape its commitment to service, education and meaningful community impact.
